New IB Economics syllabus (2020)

Significant changes are being planned for the new IB Economics syllabus for first teaching in August 2020.

The proposed IB Economics course has at least the following changes:

• Nine new concepts to be taught: scarcity, choice, efficiency, equity, economic well-being, sustainability, change, interdependence and intervention.
• Paper 2 quantitative and Paper 3 qualitative and quantitative responses. Higher level IB Economics have a 60 percent assessment weighting based on Paper 2 quantitative and Paper 3 qualitative and quantitative responses.

IB Economics will be making these changes to our content to reflect the new changes in the IB Economics syllabus.

Plus, because IB Economics teachers will be teaching both the old and new classes at the same time (to different cohorts), we will have TWO dedicated IB Economics websites to make everything easier and clearer for everyone!
